Following an announcement that all rideshares ordered through apps like Didi Chuxing and 花小猪 huā xiǎo zhū will require passengers to scan their Beijing Health Kit upon boarding, the city later decreed that carpooling will be temporarily banned on the platforms in order to reduce interaction between strangers within the vehicles. The cars will also once again be fitted with a protective plastic barrier between the front and back seats. Meanwhile, drivers for both platforms have already begun the process of vaccination.

Whereas the price of some fruits and vegetables in Beijing has shot up in recent days as regulations related to the latest COVID-19 outbreak slow the import of produce into the city and halt the movement of produce from Shunyi markets, other items are actually priced lower than ever thanks to a whole load of 'em being trucked into the capital. On Monday of this week, the number of COVID-19 vaccinations in Beijing surpassed the one million mark. According to Xinhua News (read via QR code below), the current pace of vaccinations in the capital stands at about 10,000-15,000 per day with 241 locations administering the shots. So far, there have been no serious side-effects reported.
